  • What services do you provide?
  • I primarily do off leash dog runs with limited boarding at my home in Poulsbo.

  • How many do you take in your pack?
  • Anywhere from 4 to 9. Compatibility is always deciding factor.

  • Where do you take the dogs?
  • Magnuson Off Leash Park at Sandpoint Way, the largest dog park in Seattle. (see link)

  • How long are your park visits & how often?
  • I go twice a day Monday thru Friday with a morning run and an afternoon run. Pick up and drop off times will slightly vary. One hour to an hour and 1/2, I let the dogs decide (I have gotten caught up in the fun and spent up to 2 hours at the park).

  • How do you know if my dog will be compatible?
  • Most people already know their dogs personality with other dogs. At the initial interview we will meet at your house, I will ask A BUNCH of questions (and please feel free to prepare a list of questions for me.) I will then take your dog for a short walk, do some evaluating techniques, & introduce you dog to my van with all it's dog/park smells. This whole time watching your dogs reactions.

  • What is required for boarding & park visits?
  • Almost every dog interviewed is accepted. There are some restrictions &/or requirements. Dogs are considered on a case by case and personality basis.
    - Dogs must be at least 5 months old.
    - Be spayed or neutered & have basic obedience training.
    - All shots up to date including but not limited to,rabies, distemper, parvo, bordatella, Para influenza.
    - Written statement of good health for at least 6 months, not aggressive, assertive or treat or toy protective.

  • How do you keep track & control of all the dogs at the park?
  • I use their "pack mentality". Almost all dogs want to be with the "cool kids" and build friendships/playmates. My role is to be the provider of all good things, toys, treats, praise, affection or other forms of reward. Time-outs can also happen, and I count noses ALOT!

  • What if my dog likes to roll in the mud?
  • If your puppy likes mud-bathes, there are 2 hoses by the park exit.

  • What happens if an accident should occur?
  • My negligence, my insurance covers it. Should your pup get into trouble on their own like swallow some thing they should not have, jump the fence of the park, instigate a fight i will provide a complimentary emergency room run, but not before notifying you.

  • For boarding, how many dogs do you take at one time?
  • No more than 3 please!

  • When boarding, what should I supply?
  • Food with feeding instructions, bowl and a bed or blanket to provided comfort.

  • How does the pick up & drop off work?
  • I reside in Poulsbo, Wa. with property to run. I will set up a pick up and drop off time with you prior. I charge a travel fee for weekend transfers.

  • What does boarding include?
  • My house is dog friendly with focus on the family room that has 2 dog couches. Dogs sleep in our bed room, dog yard accessibility via dog door with 6-ft fence and grating placed in the ground for basic diggers and at least 1 run to the dog park a day.

  • Can you give my pet it's medicine?
  • Definitely! I am First Aid Certified. I will however require written guidelines for application beyond what the prescription states.

  • What about kennels or crates?
  • Yes. should a dog become ill, require a time out, can't calm down for bed time, has destructive behavior or is more comfortable sleeping in one.

  • How do we get started?
  • Contact me to set up a complimentary interview either via e-mail at gretchen@seattledogwalker.com or call 206-898-8579!
Note: copies of business license, insurance, First Aid certificate & references supplied upon request.
